General Guidelines

Students who want to graduate Fall 2009 (or earlier) should use the current requirements in the current minor offered by COE.

Current and incoming UNT students who intend to graduate between Spring 2010 and Fall 2011 (inclusive) may choose to graduate under the current requirements or else the new TNT requirements.

Current and incoming UNT students who intend to graduate Spring 2012 (or after) must use the new TNT requirements.

Hybrid Reqs. for Spring/Summer 2010 Graduation

  • UCRS 1980: STEP 1 (Fall 2008)

  • UCRS 2980: STEP 2 (Spring 2009)

  • EDSE 3500: Knowing and Learning in Mathematics and Science (Fall 2009)

  • Two options (math majors only)
    • MATH 2100: Functions and Modeling for Secondary Mathematics Instruction (Fall 2009)
    • Any other EDSE course or UCRS 4000 if not used below (if taken before Fall 2009)

  • EDSE 4070: Teaching Diverse Populations (Fall 2008 or Spring 2009 or Fall 2009)

  • EDSE 4840: Instructional Strategies and Classroom Management (Fall 2009)

  • BIOL/CHEM/PHYS 4700: Research Methods for Secondary Science Instruction (Fall 2008 or Fall 2009)
    • elements will be gradually incorporated starting Fall 2008
    • For math majors, this class will count toward the lab science requirement

  • EDSE 4060: Content Area Reading in Secondary Schools (Fall 2008 or Spring 2009 or Fall 2009)

  • EDSE 4108/4118: Student Teaching in the Secondary School (Spring 2010)

  • EDSE 4128: Student Teaching Seminar (Spring 2010)
Other proposed course combinations need the advanced approval of the TNT Appeals Committee.
